Company takes on mechanical and electrical designs for new oncology and dermatology departments and women\'s health clinic at Jersey General Hospital
Engineering consultancy, Henderson Green, has given three departments at Jersey General Hospital a clean bill of health following completion of new-build and refurbishment projects.
The company was brought on board to undertake mechanical and electrical (M&E) designs for this vital set of projects consisting of the creation of new oncology and dermatology departments and 14 Gloucester Street, a women's health clinic.
The new oncology unit provides upgraded facilities for the hospital and a huge increase in treatment space.
The works included a new treatment area comprising 10 treatment chairs, new consulting rooms, a waiting area and reception. Henderson Green's sustainable M&E designs included full heat recovery ventilation, variable speed drives and high-efficiency lighting with daylight and presence control.
In order to create the space needed for the new oncology unit, it was first necessary to relocate the women’s health and dermatology departments to their new homes. The dermatology unit was relocated to its new location, which includes enhanced facilities and a better patient journey.
Completing the hat-trick is the brand new women's clinic - 14 Gloucester Street. This facility provides a dedicated clinic space away from the main site with its own front door.

The second 'stream' of works taking place at Jersey General Hospital, due to start next year, will include the creation of two new theatres and the refurbishment of an existing theatre.
